The questions Brandy hears every week
Most folks calling Moving Matters for the first time have the same five or six questions, so we put them down here in plain English. If your situation is not on this page, drop us a quote request and we’ll get back to you the same day with a straight answer.
Pricing & the written flat rate
- $119/hr covers two movers and a truck — blankets, dollies, shrink-wrap, and drive time included.
- $159/hr covers three movers and a truck for the heavier brick-ranch loads.
- Long-haul jobs to Nashville, Louisville, or Lexington run on a binding flat rate written before we load — no hour-creep, no fuel surcharges added later.
Licensing & insurance
We carry a Kentucky Motor Carrier household-goods moving certificate, plus US DOT and MC authority for our interstate I-65 runs. Released-value coverage is included at $0.60/lb, and we can write full-value protection up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment if you ask Brandy in advance.
Gravel driveways, cross-fences, and the things that catch out-of-town movers
If you’re out in Rich Pond, Alvaton, or Rockfield on a 1-acre brick-ranch lot with a long gravel driveway, we already know the drill. Tyler’s crew lays heavy floor protection inside, tarps over the gravel entry, and brings a small box truck to shuttle from the road if your driveway grade is too soft after spring rains. No surprise truck-access fee at the door.
Are you a moving company?
Yes — Moving Matters is a fully licensed and insured Bowling Green, KY moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crew, with a Kentucky Motor Carrier moving certificate and US DOT and MC authority.
How much does a Bowling Green move actually cost?
Two-mover local jobs run $119/hr including the truck, blankets, dollies, and shrink-wrap. Three-mover local jobs run $159/hr. The clock starts when we pull up to your door, not when we leave the yard. Long-haul jobs to Nashville, Louisville, or Lexington run on a written flat rate, locked before we load.
Do you offer a binding written quote?
Always. We do a free walkthrough — in person if you're inside Warren County, by video for outlying counties — and we hand you a flat rate in writing before the truck moves. That price does not change on moving day unless you add inventory.
How far in advance do I need to book?
End-of-month and the May / August WKU windows fill three to four weeks out. Mid-month off-season jobs we can often book inside of a week. Tornado-season squalls in spring sometimes shift the truck board around — Hollis will text you if anything moves.
Do you handle WKU campus moves?
Yes — Marcus runs our WKU board. He knows the College Heights dorm load-in windows, the Stadium Park duplex stretch, and the off-campus rentals near Cherry Hall. We work around game-weekend traffic on Big Red Way.
Will you move my Corvette-plant transfer?
Constantly. We do GM PCS moves in and out of the Greenwood Park and Hartland subdivisions on the regular, and we time the truck around shift change so we are not stuck behind plant traffic on Corvette Drive.
Do you do gravel-driveway pickups out in Rich Pond and Alvaton?
Every week. We bring a smaller shuttle truck if your driveway is too soft for the 26-footer, and we lay tarps over the gravel entry route so nothing tracks into the house.
What about pianos and gun safes?
Tyler's specialty. Uprights, baby grands, and 700-lb safes through 32-inch doorways are routine work for our lead crew. There is a flat-rate add-on, quoted in writing up front.
Do you store between move-out and move-in dates?
Yes — climate-controlled short-term storage at our Scottsville Road yard, billed by the week. Great for closing-date gaps on the Fountain Square loft conversions.
Do you move out of state from Bowling Green?
Yes. We hold US DOT and MC interstate authority, and Cody's board covers the I-65 corridor all the way from Chicago to Birmingham. See the
routes hub for transit times and starting prices.
